The thermostat remote has a 1-degree swing, the AC will only turn on if the temperature is 1 degree or more above the set to temperature. The reverse is also true, the room temperature needs to drop 1 degrees below the target temperature before modlet will turn your AC off.
When the thermostat remote is asleep, the display will turn off, and the remote will only measure the room temperature every 10 minutes. When you wake the remote up the temperature will be measured immediately.
Both of these features help protect your AC by not turning the compressor on & off too frequently.
